Frequently Asked Questions

Is this confidential, secure, and safe?

Yes, all information collected during this process is protected health information (PHI) and is purely confidential. For more information, please view our Privacy Policy here.

How will I get my results?

When results are ready, the participant will receive an email and/or text with a notification that their results can be viewed. All results require the participant to validate their identity prior to granting access to the results, to ensure confidentiality. If results are abnormal or require additional testing, the participant may be contacted via telephone if requested.

What does it mean to have discreet shipping?

The participant will receive a test kit box that does not include labeling detailing the contents of the package allowing for a person to feel confident and comfortable when receiving these either at home or at a community site. Each box will be labeled with a name that will ensure the participant gets the right test box without divulging what’s exactly inside.

Should I test at home or go to a local clinic? What are the benefits of each?

Since testing with Primary is supported in both ways, it depends on your comfortability. Many people like to take the test from the comfort of their home and send it back to the lab that way. Others may prefer to be on-site with a community organization who can guide them through their options and the process. Both have benefits.

What is the cost for these tests?

Participation in this program is free of charge.
